Westbury Man Arrested for Sex Offense Involving Child

The Special Victims Squad reports the arrest of a Westbury man for a sex
offense that occurred on Wednesday, October 16, 2024.
 
According to detectives, on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 Special Victims Squad detectives placed Wilson Castillo Diaz, 26 of Westbury under arrest for raping a 5-year-old female child. The child was transported to a local hospital for a medical evaluation.
 
Defendant Diaz is charged with Rape 1 st Degree, Attempted Rape 1st Degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. He was arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Wednesday, October 23, 2024.
 
Defendant Diaz did illegally enter the United States in the vicinity of the Rio Grande Valley, Texas on April 12, 2014. The subject was placed under arrest by the US. Border Patrol, released and later failed to appear for his immigration court hearing. The US Immigration and Customs Enforcement has been notified.
