AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for the following areas: All five boroughs of New York City, and Westchester, Rockland, Nassau, and Suffolk counties. Until 11 PM EDT this evening. Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for the pollutant of Ground Level Ozone. The New York State Department of Health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very young, and those with preexisting respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease. Those with symptoms should consider consulting their personal physician. A toll free air quality hotline has been established so New York residents can stay informed on the air quality situation. For Immediate Release: November 2, 2012 - The Paramount in downtown Huntington, Long Island, is providing the following disaster relief services to storm victims at our location on 370 New York Avenue, Huntington, NY  11743:

  • The Paramount is set up to collect food for Long Island Cares.  Drop offs can occur daily, in our box office, from 12pm - 6pm now through November 21stculminating at the Taking Back Sunday concert;
  • The Paramount is hosting a blood drive for the Long Island Blood Center this Tuesday, November 6th from 3pm -9pm.  Minimum weight 110 lbs., Age 16 – 75 (16 year olds must have parental permission / Age 76 and over will need a doctor’s note), Bring ID with signature or photo, No tattoos for past 12 months, Eat well (low fat) & drink fluids;
  • The Paramount set up a warming station at the venue with the Town of Huntington that will be open from 12pm-12am now through Sunday, with free soda and water also available;
  • The Paramount is also offering electricity for charging devices inside the venue as needed;
  • The Paramount is giving out ice to local residents in need with a limit of 2 bags per person, while supplies last;
  • Additionally, many upcoming artists / bands set to take the stage in the coming weeks have planned, or are planning, future charitable efforts - with more details to come, such as:
    Megadeth / Red Cross (concert at The Paramount on 11-10-12);
    Wallflowers / TBD Charity (concert at The Paramount on 11-11-12);
    Taking Back Sunday / LI Cares Food Drive (concert at The Paramount on 11-21-12).
