Elmont Hookah Bar Bust: Owner Faces Charges for Illegal Operations and Gambling Machines!

The owner of Elmont's Temptations Hookah Bar and Lounge was arrested and charged with multiple offenses, including operating without a valid liquor license and possessing gambling machines.

The Fifth Precinct reports an Arrest that occurred on Tuesday, November 7,
2023 at 6:56pm in Elmont.
 
Officers responded to the Temptations Hookah Bar and Lounge located at 1519 Hempstead Turnpike; the investigation revealed the bar was operating without a valid New York State liquor license. Officers also observed two games of chance gambling machines present inside the establishment. The Town of Hempstead Buildings Department and the Nassau County Fire Marshal issued the owner multiple summons and the location was boarded, locked and secured.
 
The owner, Defendant Alex Bonilla, 40, of 45 Evans Avenue Elmont was charged with two counts of Possession of a Gambling Device, two counts of Places of Public Assembly: License Requirements and Posting and one count of General Provision: Sale without an Appropriate License. He was issued an Appearance Ticket returnable on Thursday, November 30, 2023 to First District Court 99 Main Street Hempstead.
