Long Island Area Military Women Receive a Holiday "Thank you for your Shining Service Makeover"
Stony Brook, NY- 12 deserving local military women will receive a complete holiday beauty makeover, including hair, nails, makeup and accessories at the Cactus Salon in Stony Brook on December from 9am to Noon. An "after" photo shoot of the military women at 1pm will follow the working morning event that will be attended by military and civilian women supporters to honor these women of service in this season of giving provided by the Cactus Salon network.
The Holiday makeovers will be hosted by Long Island's Cactus salon/spa chain, voted "Long Island's Best Salon and Day Spa" www.cactussalon.com and Linda Franklin, New York based founder of the charitable initiative, "Shining Service Worldwide" is a special project of the Long Island based United Veterans Beacon House: wwwshiningserviceworldwide.com/ www.uvbh.com, the effort supports the re-integration of military women into civilian life during these challenging times. Shining Service Worldwide provides support for the growing numbers of women in the military. The national program features the Makeover Mission which celebrates the Beauty of Women in Service . The charity's mentor program, "THE POWER OF 10" serves as a launch for connecting women to a positive re-integration back to civilian life. Long Island Women participating in the makeover will also benefit from being part of the life skills makeover pilot program through the "Power of 10" platform.
