LIRR Offers Extra Thanksgiving Weekend Service
Electrical problems forced a suspension of Long Island Rail Road service into and out of Penn Station on Thanksgiving Eve, adding to the chaos of the biggest travel day of the year.
Service has since re-opened, but the MTA warned riders to expect delays and cancellations, and applies to all branches. The LIRR is still operating on its “near-normal” post-Sandy schedule.
