Man Critically Injured After Jumping From Moving Vehicle
Suffolk County Police Third Squad detectives are investigating after a man jumped from a moving vehicle on Sunrise Highway in East Islip yesterday morning, critically injuring himself.
Eric Bruer was a passenger in a 2023 Toyota travelling westbound on Sunrise Highway when he was involved in a dispute with the driver of the vehicle. He jumped out of the moving vehicle in front of 3525 Sunrise Highway at 11:49 a.m.
Bruer, 49, who is undomiciled, was taken via ambulance to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore where he is in critical condition. The driver of the vehicle was not injured.
