Unique Wedding Ideas
You can make your wedding unique by personalizing the ceremony. Choose from any of the following suggestions to make your wedding extra special:
Have your mom and dad walk you down the aisle
Have you and your groom walk down the aisle together
Ask family and friends to do a reading during the ceremony
Include readings and poems that are special to you
Face your guests during the ceremony as opposed to having your back to them
Light a unity candle together
Hand a rose to each mom during the recessional
Have guests toss flower petals, seeds or bubbles after the ceremony
Personalize wedding vows-write them yourselves and include comments about loved ones.
Create a photo guest book - have the guest book attendants take Polaroid's of your guests as they come in and place the photos in a scrapbook. Then ask the guests to sign beneath their photo
If there are not many single guests at your wedding, try this innovation rather than the traditional bouquet and garter throwing - Invite everyone to the dance floor while the DJ plays several slow songs. The DJ tells all couples married two hours or less to sit down, then a few moments later, any married a year or less, than five years, ten years and so on, until there was only one couple left. Ask the last couple to stay on the dance floor while the bride sits and her new husband makes a big show of removing the garter. The congratulate the winning couple on their many years (ask them how many) of marriage, and give them the bouquet and garter as a gift.
Hand-deliver your invitations - this saves money! Also, roll the invitations like scrolls for a Medieval theme!
Hand paint your toasting glasses! There are many pottery places where you can paint glass, they "fire it" for you, and you pick it up later. This is something you can do with your fianc, and it's a cheap alternative
