The Fifth Squad reports the arrest of a Queens man for a Robbery that occurred on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at 12:00 am in Valley Stream.
 
According to detectives, Defendant Devon Gomes, 40, of 85-02 134 th Street, entered the BP Gas Station located at 85 N Central Avenue. Once inside, he removed various items from the shelves and approached the male employee, 21, standing behind the register. Defendant Gomes selected lottery tickets that were behind the counter and placed his hand inside his sweatshirt, stating he had a gun, demanding cash from the register and the employee’s cell phone. The employee complied and the defendant tried to flee the scene before being apprehended. Gomes was arrested without incident. No injuries were reported.
 
Defendant Devon Gomes is charged with Robbery 1 st Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4 th Degree, Menacing 2 nd Degree and Possession of Burglars Tool. He will be arraigned on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
