The carolers are out, holiday productions are hitting the stage and Christmas tree lighting festivities continue on Long Island this weekend! On Friday, head out to enjoy the annual Bellmore Christmas tree lighting event as well as the tree lighting event at Planting Fields Arboretum. There is also the screening of Vertigo at Sayville Public Library on Friday. On Saturday, enjoy a night of comedy. There’s the production of Murder At The Howard Johnson’s at Studio Theatre and a performance by the Comedy Club at Theatre Three. There’s also the production of The Nutcracker with the South Shore Symphony Orchestra at South Side High School. On Sunday, enjoy the afternoon watching a performance by The Devotions at the Connetquot Public Library or a production of the Charles Dickens classic of “A Christmas Carol” by the Minstrel Players. On Sunday evening, enjoy a performance by the Vienna Boys Choir at the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center. Check out the details below!

Who: Annual Bellmore Christmas Tree Lighting And Holiday Extravaganza
Info: Come out and enjoy the annual tree lighting event in Bellmore Village. There will be a visit from Santa, carolers, holiday music, horse and carriage rides, trolley rides and refreshments. The event is sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce of the Bellmores.

Who: Annual Tree Lighting At Planting Fields Arboretum
Info: It’s the eighth annual tree lighting event at Planting Fields Arboretum. Santa will make a visit and there will be the lighting of an evergreen tree. Coe Hall Mansion is also open. Planting Fields Arboretum is a historic state park. Enjoy 409 acres of greenhouses, rolling lawns, a formal garden, woodland paths and plant collections.

Who: Screening of Alfred Hitchcock’s Classic Film, Vertigo, At Sayville Public Library
Info: Film historia Irene Eckert will be present at this screening of the film Vertigo. She will lead a discussion on the film after the screening. Vertigo is a film set in San Francisco. A retired detective is hired by an old college friend to follow his wife when there is suspicion that she is possessed by the spirit of her mad ancestor.
