Hammer-Wielding Attacker on the Loose: Help Needed to Locate Woman Who Assaulted and Pushed Child in Suffolk County

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Southampton Town Police Department detectives are
seeking the public’s help to locate the woman who assaulted a woman and pushed the
victim’s child in October.
 
Ligia Lopez Menendez, 37, went to the Riverside residence of a known female, pushed
the woman’s child and struck the woman in the head with a hammer on October 30. The
victim had an order of protection against Lopez Menendez. The victim was transported to
a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries and her child was not
injured.
 
Lopez Menendez is Hispanic, approximately 5 feet 4 inches tall and 160 pounds with
long brown hair. She has ties to Flanders, Riverside and Hampton Bays.
 
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward for information that leads to an
