The Fifth Squad reports the arrest of a Lynbrook man for Criminal Possession of a Firearm that occurred on Sunday, December 8, 2024 at 12:50 a.m. in Elmont.
 
According to Detectives, a Vehicle and Traffic Law stop was conducted in the vicinity of Hoeffner Avenue and Pelham Street. During an investigation, defendant Antonio Lam, 30, of 185 Atlantic Avenue fled the scene on foot and was located in the vicinity of Carnegie Avenue and placed under arrest. While resisting arrest, the defendant discharged a single shot
from a firearm but no one was struck. A loaded .40 caliber firearm was recovered from the defendant. One Detective sustained injuries resulting from the defendant violently resisting arrest. The defendant was not injured.
 
Defendant Lam is charged with Assault 2 nd Degree, Reckless Endangerment 1 st Degree, Resisting Arrest, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4 th Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2 nd Degree, and Criminal Possession of a Firearm. He will be arraigned on Monday, December 9, 2024 at First District Court, 99 Main Street in Hempstead.
