Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Deer Park Motor Vehicle Crash

Suffolk County Police First Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that seriously injured a pedestrian in Deer Park yesterday.
 
Daniel Martinez was driving a 2022 Hyundai Elantra southbound on Commack Road near Marcus Boulevard when the vehicle struck a man who was in the roadway at 6:10 p.m.
 
The pedestrian was transported to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip for treatment of serious injuries. Martinez, 49, of North Babylon, was not injured.
 
The vehicle was impounded for a safety check. Detectives are asking anyone with information to call the First Squad at 631-854-8152.
