The Homicide Squad reports on a Fatal Vehicular Accident that occurred on

Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at 5:04 pm in Freeport.

 

According to Detectives, an 89-year-old male operating a 2014 Lincoln was traveling southbound on North Main Street in the left lane when he struck a 73-year- old female pedestrian crossing the road eastbound on North Main Street in the vicinity of Stevens Street.

 

The pedestrian was transported to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced at 6:38 pm by hospital staff. The operator of the vehicle was transported to a nearby hospital for minor injuries. The investigation is ongoing.
