The Homicide Squad reports the details of a Fatal Vehicular Accident that occurred on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at 10:06 PM in Hewlett.
According to Detectives, a 74 year old male pedestrian was crossing Broadway in the vicinity of 1345 Broadway when he was struck by a dark colored SUV traveling northbound on Broadway.
According to witnesses, a male driver of the SUV exited his vehicle, dragged the victim to the side of the road, re-entered his vehicle and fled the scene.
The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital and was later pronounced by a hospital physician.
The investigation is ongoing.
