Suffolk County Police Fourth Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed a pedestrian in Hauppauge last night.
A man in the roadway of the Eastbound Long Island Expressway, near Exit 57, was struck in the middle lane by a 2014 Honda Civic, driven by Jennifer McGee, at approximately 9:40 p.m.
The pedestrian, Jose Garcia Granados, 28, of Central Islip, was pronounced dead at the scene. McGee, 37, of Southold, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for evaluation.
The Honda was impounded for a safety check. The investigation is continuing. Anyone with information is asked to call the Fourth Squad at 631-854-8452.
