ASTORIA, NY (December 21, 2011) - Astoria Medical, Dental & LASIK Center (AMDLC) has announced that, on January 1, 2012, it will begin a partnership with the Long Island City YMCA. As a result of this partnership, both AMDLC patients and YMCA members will learn about the importance of maintaining their physical health and their emotional and spiritual well-being.

The idea for the partnership came when Ebony R. Conely-Young, Executive Director, Long Island YMCA, met with Irfan Iqbal, President/Chief Executive Officer, AMDLC, at a recent business networking event, where they discussed ways to promote both organizations and how they can bring in more people. Ms. Conely-Young was also offered a tour of AMDLC, where she learned about the latest state-of-the-art medical, dental and LASIK (laser vision correction) surgery equipment being used.

Under this arrangement, AMDLC will offer new customers one-day passes to the YMCA's Long Island City location as a way of thanking them for visiting the facility. In return, the YMCA will offer gift certificates to its members, offering medical, dental and LASIK services at discounted rates to first-time patients. For the first initiative towards this partnership, the Long Island City YMCA has already offered these gift certificates to its members on its website and Facebook page.

The Long Island City YMCA is a community service organization which promotes positive values through programs that build spirit, mind and body, welcoming all people from all races, nationalities, religions, and income levels. The programs the organization offers teach the core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility and continue its 158-year tradition of emphasis upon youth, health and wellness, adult education and community collaboration and problem solving.

"We are pleased to enter into this relationship with the Long Island YMCA," Mr. Iqbal said. "Its members will have the opportunity to receive the highest level of medical, dental and LASIK care and our patients will learn how the YMCA makes a positive impact on the community by strengthening the minds, bodies and spirits of children and their families."

"We at the Long Island YMCA are pleased to partner with AMDLC to offer our membership the best health care options and AMDLC is the perfect fit," Ms. Conely-Young said. "We look forward to working closely with AMDLC on a variety of fronts that would greatly benefit our members."
