Devereux Emmet designed this slightly shorter, 18-hole municipal golf course in 1925. With 6,173 yards from its longest tees and a par value of 72, the course’s fairways are wide and spacious and have no water hazards to avoid, making this a perfect setting for beginners. Walking is allowed and soft spikes are accepted. Clubs and pull carts are on hand for rental. The course has both a chipping area and a putting green. The Pro shop, snack bar, restaurant and full bar are available. The on-site golf professional uses a state-of-the-art teaching studio to hold schools and clinics for both adult and junior players. Senior discounts are obtainable. In fact, seniors will particularly enjoy this well-maintained course because of its flat terrain. Players may pay a reduced fee for nine holes after 2 p.m. The club is closed on Mondays. Brentwood Country Club is open from March to mid-December.
