Located in Montauk on 500 feet of ocean beach is Ditch Plains Beach, a popular spot for surfers. A jetty at Ditch Plains helps to create stunning and consistent waves for beginners and more advanced long boarders to coast on. On a bad day the beach will see at good 50-plus surfers. On a good day, well, good luck finding room for yourself out in the water. Beautiful cliffs rise above the beach at its western end at Rheinstein Park. Restrooms, two concession trailers, outdoor showers and sand wheelchairs are available.
