Designed by W.F. Mitchell, this 18-hole semi-private golf course offers not only a great golf game but also incredible water views of Long Island Sound. The short layout measures 4,866 yards from the longest tees and has a par 67 value, a 64.4 rating and a 111 slope. The greens are tiny but fast. Making it around the tough angles can be challenging. One pond becomes a water hazard for five holes. The narrow fairways are flat, but the necks are really slim and lined with rough. Non-members are welcome to play during twilight periods or at any time with a club member. The driving range and practice areas are open to the public at all times. Other amenities include the Pro shop, equipment rentals, instructional clinics, individual lessons, and dining at the Soundview Café. Glen Cove participates in Golfing Magazine’s “Free Golf Program.”
