This semi-private 18-hole golf course opened in 2001. Built upon mature roller-coaster woodlands, the layout offers sprawling vistas of the stunning and rugged terrain surrounding the course. Impressive boulder outcroppings contrast with well-groomed, tight fairways. The rolling greens may be the fastest on Long Island, but each one is diverse in its design and complexity. The entire course constantly twists, turns, rises and falls while pastoral views of orchards, fields and distant hills entertain and delight. Sharp doglegs and dense woods further complicate the play at Great Rocks. Golfers have a choice of tees, the longest yardage being 6,250 and par 71. The attention to detail and continuous manicuring enhance the appearance and play here. It truly deserves its “Country Club for a Day” reputation.
