Located within the scenic Heckscher Park, not to be confused with Hecksher State Park, in Huntington is the Heckscher Museum of Art which opened and has been active since 1920. This particular museum's collection spans 500 years of Western art and contains 2100 pieces of work by American and European artists. The museums strengths lie in landscape painting, as well as American and European modernism with photography exhibits growing in number.
