Hobart Beach, also known as Sand City, has beach access from both the Northport Bay and Long Island Sound. Its boat ramp is a hard-surfaced, single lane where commercial fishermen are permitted to unload their catch. Other features at Hobart Beach are the playground with a jungle gym, swings and slides, outdoor showers, motor boating and sailing, water skiing and though the beach doesn’t offer a concession stand, an ice cream truck makes frequent stops to Hobart’s shores. Hobart is also home to the Sarah H. Rupert Water Bird Park Preserve. The preserve, however, doesn’t allow for visitors.
