This 18-hole public golf course was designed by Robert Trent Jones in 1914 and boasts his classic Long Island links style. Massive bunkers, elevated greens and serious water hazards have made the traditional layout tricky and challenging. The course measures 6,900 yards from its longest tees and has a par value of 72. It has the reputation of having one of the toughest finishing holes on Long Island, but it has also been rated in the Top 10 Public Courses in the Metro Area. The amenities include a 20-stall driving range, three target greens, Pro shop, on-site golf pro for lessons, equipment rentals, locker rooms, café restaurant and a clubhouse with a banquet hall and catering facilities. Residents of the towns of Hempstead and Long Beach qualify for discounts, as do those who play early-bird, mid-day or Twilight hours. Lido Golf Course is open daily from sunrise to sunset.
