Apart of Hofstra University, the Long Island Studies Institute is a major center for the study of Long Island local and regional history. The collection is open to scholars, teachers, students, and the general public but the items do not circulate and must be used in the department's reading room only.  The collection includes books, photographs, newspapers, maps, government documents, manuscripts, and audiovisual materials. For more information call Prof. Geri Solomon.
