Massapequa Park was deemed the “Best Nature Preserve on Long Island” by Long Island Press in 2006. Containing diverse landscapes, this 423-acre park and preserve is home to many rare and endangered Long Island plants. The longest hiking trail in Nassau, the Nassau-Suffolk Greenbelt Trail, runs through the preserve as does 4.5 miles of the Bethpage Bikeway. Freshwater fishing in available in several of the lakes and streams.
