The Mitchel Athletic Complex is a 49-acre sports complex a part of the Mitchel Field Complex. Mitchel is host to a variety of Long Island high school and collegiate athletic events, and local sports leagues. The facility includes a track and field stadium with nine lanes and a new synthetic field for football, soccer and lacrosse. Four fields are available for softball and two for baseball. Mitchel Field was previously home to local lacrosse team, the Long Island Lizards, and was the practice facility for the New York Dragons. It is currently home of the Long Island Lions and Long Island Rough Riders.
