A.W. Tillinghast designed this 18-hole private golf course which occupies part of the former Burtis farm on Flower Hill. It opened in 1916 and has maintained its reputation as a course that is manicured to the highest standards. In addition to the beautiful tree-lined appearance, the short course is user-friendly with broad fairways, large, slow and elevated greens and water hazards on only two holes. Patrons may also enjoy the 10-tee driving range, equipment rentals, pro lessons, caddy service, the men’s and women’s card rooms, a full bar and restaurant, 3 Har-Tru tennis courts, the swimming pool and catering facilities for special events. This is a family-oriented country club with children’s menus, activities and even a weekly barbecue. Although the club is private, it maintains a reciprocal guest policy with neighboring golf facilities.
