Stepping onto the Smithtown Historical Soceity gives vistors an old time feeling created by the meadows, unpaved road, large trees, two still standing barns and four other historic buildings with it's staff dressed in period costumes. The Arthur Farm Barn is home to a domestic animal collection while the Frank Brush Barn holds numerous public events the largest event being the Heritage Country Fair held each September, and the occasional private family gathering.
