The Gallery of Shorthand, located in the courthouse complex of Central Islip, works to tell the history of one of mankind's oldest professions and recognizes the importance of preserving thought by following the 2,000-year development of shorthand writing. The Gallery celebrates shorthand reporters and experts who preserve the rhetoric of society and embrace modern technology to instantly create text from speech.
