Port Jefferson's Pet Adoption Awareness Weekend
I think Port Jefferson did this event last year - They are doing it again this year -
There is really cool stuff to see. Port Jefferson is a great little get-away on Long Island & the pet walk is so sweet.
Really wonderful animal rescue groups - Guardians of Rescue RSVP Animal Welfare & Rescue - Last Chance Animal Rescue - Yorkie911 Rescue - Eastern German Shorthaired Pointer Club Rescue - Babylon Animal shelter and many more than I can easily list here.
ADOPTABLE pets of all kinds. They even had a Chinchilla last year, bunnies, kitty cats.
I wanted to adopt them all.
The original art is affordable, local. GREAT EVENT - if you'd like to check it out you will not be disappointed - TOP 10 things to do on Long Island this weekend

Pet Adoption event - So many in shelters, in rescues without the facilities to house them, in boarding (no place for a pet), in foster care - - - - - -

RSVP Cut-A-Thon Fundraiser - !! WOW !! What a great way to get groomed - Salon Echelon hosting this event SUNDAY in Speonk to benefit our friends at RSVP Animal Welfare & Rescue Group - OUTREACH to the community is a large part of what RSVP does - Spay & Neuter programs, re-homing of pets, UNCHAINING dogs & more - They even help other rescue groups - $25 per cut - 100% of the proceeds goes to RSVP
