The City Or The Island
The City Or The Island

A lot of us live here because of our kids. We think it's safer here than in the city. For the most part it is, but there is so much more to do in the city. When I was younger, growing up in the city, I never felt that I wasn't safe and I was never bored. Ever. Do you think we're being overprotective with our children these days?
When taking all things into account, where do you think the best place is to raise your kids......the city or the island? For safety, here. No doubt. It's a different world then when we were growing up. For a well rounded childhood? The city. That much hasn't changed.
It's a tough call, right?

The sorts of activities I enjoyed as a child are certainly more prevalent on Long Island. Now that I'm older there are plenty of bars and restaurants in the city that I like to go to, but even so I'd rather have quick and easy access to a ton of great beaches than quick and easy access to a few Ethiopian restaurants.

I understand your debate, Scotty, but I say the island wins hands down. Trips into the city are nice, but I think it's much better to keep the family on the island for daily living.
