Beach Weddings on Long Island?

Has anyone had experience with planning a beach wedding on Long Island?
A good friend of mine is looking for a venue... more of a sand-in-your-toes spot to get married next summer. I think she just wants to do the ceremony/vows/photography on the beach and then have the reception/party indoors.
Have any of you ever been to a local beach wedding? Pros and cons?
Are there any beaches on Long Island that allow this? Do you need permits or can you just show up? Any help would be great! Thanks

Very excited to go to a vineyard wedding this week... at Macari Vineyards. It's supposed to be absolutely beautiful!

Most beaches do not require a special permit for small informal weddings. Now a day’s beach wedding is becoming the preferred choice of every couple. And you can also find the wedding theme related to beach wedding easily.

I think beach wedding is very romantic and special, if you like it just do it and don't regret for it.
