AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for the following areas: All five boroughs of New York City, and Westchester, Rockland, Nassau, and Suffolk counties. Until 11 PM EDT this evening. Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for the pollutant of Ground Level Ozone. The New York State Department of Health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very young, and those with preexisting respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease. Those with symptoms should consider consulting their personal physician. A toll free air quality hotline has been established so New York residents can stay informed on the air quality situation. Hempstead, NY - January 1st, 2014 - The Special Investigations Squad reports the arrest of a Hempstead man that occurred on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at 10:40 pm in Hempstead.
 
According to detectives, a Hempstead Police Officer recognized the defendant Corey Crisp, 34, of 50 Webb Avenue wanted in connection with a shooting that occurred on August 31, 2013 at 10:46 a.m. on Margret Court in Hempstead. The officer placed Crisp under arrest without incident. During that investigation it was discovered that he was in possession of a defaced loaded silver hand gun.
 
Crisp is charged with Attempted Murder 2nd degree, Assault 1st degree, Criminal Use of a Firearm 1st degree, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd degree, three counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree. He was arraigned on January 1, 2014 at First District Court in Hempstead.
