AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for the following areas: All five boroughs of New York City, and Westchester, Rockland, Nassau, and Suffolk counties. Until 11 PM EDT this evening. Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for the pollutant of Ground Level Ozone. The New York State Department of Health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very young, and those with preexisting respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease. Those with symptoms should consider consulting their personal physician. A toll free air quality hotline has been established so New York residents can stay informed on the air quality situation. Suffolk County Police arrested a Centereach man for driving while intoxicated with his child in the vehicle after he was involved in a motor vehicle crash in Ronkonkoma.

Ronkonkoma, NY - January 1, 2017 - Suffolk County Police today arrested a Centereach man for driving while intoxicated with his child in the vehicle after he was involved in a motor vehicle crash in Ronkonkoma.

Julio Euceda was driving a 1998 Ford eastbound on Johnson Avenue when his vehicle struck an unoccupied 2004 Ford. Euceda exited the vehicle and then fled on foot westbound on Johnson Avenue. Fourth Precinct patrol officers responded and located Euceda with his 7-year-old son a short distance away.

Fourth Squad detectives charged Euceda, 32, of Centereach, with Aggravated Driving While Under the Influence of Drugs or Alcohol with a Child Passenger 15 Years Old or Younger (Leandra’s Law), Acting in a Manner To Injure a Child, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle 1st Degree, Leaving the Scene of an Accident with Property Damage and Use of a Vehicle Without Interlock Device.

Neither Euceda nor his child was injured.

A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
