The NAACP Islip Town Branch is proud to announce its 10th Annual Legacy Gala, a celebration of community leadership, empowerment, and social justice, scheduled for Saturday, January 13, 2024. This significant event will take place at Marriott Melville in New York, and will feature an evening of recognition, inspiration, and networking honoring outstanding community leaders, including Pilar Moya of Housing Help, Dr. Jermaine Archer of SUNY Old Westbury and Vanessa Baird- Streeter former Suffolk County Deputy Executive will be receiving the Mary Holmes Reid and Holmes Family Lifetime Achievement Award.
 
The gala will also feature a keynote address by renowned journalist Roland Martin. With a distinguished career spanning journalism, broadcasting, and advocacy, Roland Martin is celebrated as "The Voice Of Black America." Martin is the host and managing editor of #RolandMartinUnfiltered, the first daily online show focused on news and analysis from an explicitly African American perspective.
 
Attendees will be treated to live entertainment by Debbie Knapper and Knappertime Band, adding excitement and energy to the evening. A delectable dinner will be served, creating the perfect atmosphere for meaningful conversations, connections, and networking with like-minded individuals and community leaders.
