Hempstead Man Arrested After Burglarizing Uniondale Residence, NCPD Says

Uniondale, NY - January 3, 2019 - The First Squad reports the Arrest of a Hempstead man for Burglary that occurred on December 31, 2018 at 11:09 a.m. in Uniondale.
 
According to detectives, police received a radio assignment for a male looking into windows of houses in the vicinity of Braxton Street. The defendant, Jahkeem Jiles, 27, was found on the side of a residence, at which time he fled on foot. He was apprehended a short time later in Hofstra University. Investigation revealed that the defendant entered a home on Braxton Street and took unknown proceeds.
 
The defendant is charged with Burglary 2nd Degree. He will be arraigned on Wednesday, January 2nd, 2019 at First District Court, Hempstead.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
