New Cassel Man Arrested for Threatening Woman with Firearm During Altercation, Cops Say

The Third Squad reports the arrest of a New Cassel man for an incident that occurred on Sunday, January 5, 2025 at 11:30 am in New Cassel.
 
According to Detectives, Third Precinct officers responded to a New Cassel residence for a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers were informed that the Defendant Talique Thomas, 23, of 30A 3rd Avenue was involved in a verbal argument with a female victim, 21. The argument escalated and Defendant Thomas pointed a loaded black firearm at the victim placing her in fear for her life. 
 
The victim immediately left the residence and contacted police. Upon police arrival, the defendant was located and placed under arrest without incident. 
 
No injuries were reported. 
 
Defendant Talique Thomas is charged with Menacing 2nd Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree. He will be arraigned on Monday, January 6, 2025 in First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
