AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for the following areas: All five boroughs of New York City, and Westchester, Rockland, Nassau, and Suffolk counties. Until 11 PM EDT this evening. Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for the pollutant of Ground Level Ozone. The New York State Department of Health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very young, and those with preexisting respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease. Those with symptoms should consider consulting their personal physician. A toll free air quality hotline has been established so New York residents can stay informed on the air quality situation. Levittown, NY - January 10th, 2014 - The Second Squad reports the details of an arrest for Criminal Possession of a Weapon that occurred on January 10, 2014 at 4:30 AM in Levittown.

According to detectives, 911 received a call for a male shooting a gun into the air in the vicinity of Twig Lane and Newbridge Road. While responding to the area, Second Precinct officers observed a male walking away from the area that fit the description of the subject.  After an investigation Michael Collier, 29, of 120 Twig Lane, Levittown was placed under arrest without incident.  A .45 caliber handgun was found in his possession.

Collier is being charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree and Reckless Endangerment 2nd Degree.  He will be arraigned on January 11, 2014 at First District Court, Hempstead.
