Owner of Roosevelt Day Care Arrested for Endangering the Welfare of a Child

Roosevelt, NY - January 9, 2016 - First Squad detectives report the arrest of a Roosevelt woman for Endangering the Welfare of a Child that occurred on Friday, January 8, 2015 at 8:00 AM in Roosevelt.

According to detectives, the female victim, 6 was at His Word Day Care located at 33 Maple Drive, Roosevelt and being placed on a school bus operated by Huntington Coach when she refused to put on a seatbelt.  The driver enlisted the assistance of the defendant, owner of day care Carolyn Reid, 73 who physically abused the victim.  The police were notified and the defendant was located and placed under arrest at His Word Day Care which is in the defendant’s residence.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for medical evaluation; no injuries were reported at this time.

Reid was charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child, was issued an Appearance Ticket and scheduled to appear on Monday, January 25, 2016 at First District Court in Hempstead.
