Man Vandalized Centereach Vehicle, Stole $500 in Christmas Presents, Authorities Report

A man broke a window of a parked car, stole presents inside, and then poured bleach on the vehicle, cops say.

Centereach, NY - January 12, 2017 - Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Fourth Precinct Crime Section officers are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the man who stole items from a vehicle in Centereach last month.
 
A man broke the passenger side window of a vehicle parked at a residence on Main Avenue and stole the Christmas presents inside, valued at approximately $500, in the early morning of December 24. He then vandalized the vehicle by pouring bleach on it.
 
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
