Las Vegas Sands to Develop Multibillion-Dollar Casino/Resort at Nassau Coliseum
Las Vegas Sands has announced that they are planning on developing a multibillion-dollar casino resort at Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, NY.
The proposed long-term lease agreement - which is still pending approval - would give Las Vegas Sands approximately 80 acres to build the establishment, which would combine casino gaming, high-end hotel rooms, a music venue, a day spa, swimming pool, health club, entertainment options, and more.
Las Vegas Sands' chairman and chief executive officer, Robert G. Goldstein, said that the casino resort will be an economic boon to Nassau County.
“Our company’s track record of driving significant economic benefits to the communities in which we operate and the meaningful relationships and partnerships we have created in each of those communities gives us a unique perspective on what it takes to develop transformative tourism destinations that positively impact the local community," he said. "Based on that experience, we strongly believe Long Island can be home to one of the region’s great entertainment and hospitality developments."
