Freeport, NY - January 14th, 2015 - The Homicide Squad reports the details of a fatal motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian which occurred on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at 8:59 P.M. in Freeport.
According to detectives, a 53 year old male attempting to cross Sunrise Highway at North Long Beach Road from the south side was struck in the westbound lanes by a 2013 Subaru being driven by a 49 year old male. The aided was transported to Nassau University Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased at 9:43 P.M. by hospital staff. A brake and safety check was done at the scene on the vehicle. No criminality is suspected at this time.
No further injuries were reported. Identification of the deceased is being withheld pending family notification.
