Patchogue Man Arrested for Drugs & Weapons, Larges Quantities of Ammunition

Islip / Patchogue, NY - January 14, 2017 - On Friday January 13, 2017, at approximately 5:30 PM, Troopers from the Brentwood Barracks stopped a 2006 Subaru on the eastbound Southern State Parkway in the Town of Islip for a traffic violation.  Subsequent investigation revealed that the driver of the vehicle was in possession of marihuana, a loaded .45 caliber hand gun, numerous high capacity magazines, as well as a dagger.  Further investigation by the Troop L Gun Investigation Unit led to a search of the drivers residence, where he was found to possess the following weapons and contraband: Smith and Wesson .38 caliber revolver, a Sig Sauer .45 caliber handgun, a PWS model MK1 AR 15, numerous high capacity magazines, and a large quantity of various ammunition.
 
The driver of the Subaru, Andrew Kuklis, age 41, of Patchogue, NY, was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd(C Felony), 3 counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd (D Felony), Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th (A Misdemeanor), and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana (Violation).  The defendant will be arraigned in Suffolk County 1st District Court on January 14, 2017.
