Westbury, NY - January 16, 2019 - The Nassau County Police Department reports the arrest of a Connecticut woman for Criminal Mischief that occurred on August 7, 2015 at 2:02 a.m. in Westbury.
According to detectives, the defendant, Claudine Ebanks, 39, a self-employed home health aide, of Waterbury, was involved in a disturbance on Harmony Lane. During the disturbance she intentionally broke three exterior air conditioner units owned by victim 1. A resident of the home, victim 2, heard the disturbance and confronted the defendant. At this time the defendant took out a large kitchen knife and threatened victim 2. The defendant fled the scene before police arrival.
On October 16, 2015 victim 1, was notified that his bank account had multiple attempts to withdraw money. The investigation into this crime led to the defendant as well. On January 15, 2019 the defendant was located and placed under arrest. During the arrest processing it was determined that the defendant had an active warrant from West Virginia.

The defendant, Claudine Ebanks is being charged with Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree, Attempted Grand Larceny 2nd Degree and Menacing 2nd Degree. She will be arraigned on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at First District Court, 99 Main Street in Hempstead.
