The Third Precinct reports the arrest of (3) three males for an incident that occurred in East Garden City.
According to Police, an employee, 39, of Moose Knuckles located at 630 Old Country Road observed defendant David T. Jennings, 54, of 15039 Yates Road, Queens and Raquan M. Pitt, 30, of 100 Terrace Avenue, Hempstead conceal merchandise valued at approximately $330.00 USC and pass all points of final purchase. The employee followed the defendants in an attempt to retrieve the merchandise. At this time, Defendant Jennings struck the victim in the face before fleeing scene and entering into a White Jeep Cherokee being operated by Defendant William Morris, 39, of 130 Elizabeth Avenue, Hempstead.
A short time later, Officers located the vehicle with the three male occupants traveling southbound on Ring Road. The officers activated their emergency lights and conducted a Vehicle and Traffic Law stop. Defendants Morris and Pitt were taken into custody. Defendant Jennings exited the vehicle and attempted to flee scene. Jennings refused multiple verbal commands and resisted arrest while reaching towards his waistband causing Officers to deploy an Electronic Control Device (ECD), Taser, before taking Jennings into custody. Defendant Jennings was transported by a Nassau County Police Ambulance to a local hospital for evaluation.
Subsequent to the investigation, defendant Jennings was found to be possessions of a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine.
Defendant David T. Jennings is being charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th Degree, Robbery 3rd Degree, Petit Larceny, Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd Degree and Resisting Arrest. He will be arraigned when medically practical.
Defendant Raquan M. Pitt is being charged with Petit Larceny and was released on an Appearance Ticket returnable on February 9, 2023 at First District Court.
Defendant William Morris is charged with multiple Vehicle and Traffic Law Violations and was released on an Appearance Ticket returnable on February 9, 2023 at First District Court.
