Roosevelt, NY - January 18, 2017 - First Squad detectives are investigating a Robbery that occurred on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at 6:58 pm in Roosevelt.
According to detectives, while attempting to make a delivery to W.Z. Food Market, 124 Park Avenue, the “utz” delivery driver, while inside his delivery van gathering the stores order, was approached by 2 male blacks, one of whom was armed with a handgun demanding his money. When the 58 year old victim attempted to exit the cargo area of the van, one of the subjects swung the van door which struck the driver in the face. After repeatedly being punched and kicked and held on the ground, the subjects reach into his pockets and removed an undetermined amount of cash as well as his wallet. Both subjects then fled and were last seen running southbound on Park Avenue.
The injured victim, who sustained lacerations and contusions to his head, was transported to an area hospital for treatment. He further described the subjects as both being about 23-28 years old, 5’10”-5’11” tall and around 170-180 pounds.
