Suffolk County Police on Saturday, January 18 cited the manager of a Huntington Station lounge during a New York State Liquor Authority compliance check.
In response to community complaints, Second Precinct Crime Section officers, in conjunction with Second Precinct Patrol officers, New York State Liquor Authority, Town of Huntington Fire Marshall, and Town of Huntington Code Enforcement Inspector, conducted a SLA Inspection at H Hookah Lounge, located at 107 East Jericho Turnpike, at approximately 12 a.m.
During the inspection, police observed numerous patrons smoking hookahs, which was not licensed by the Town of Huntington. The manager of the Lounge, Anmol Dhawan, 30, of Melville, was issued a receipt and seven hookahs were seized.
The Town of Huntington Fire Marshall and Town of Huntington Code Enforcement Inspector issued 12 combined Building, Fire and Code Violations to the owner.
The State Liquor Authority observed that the lounge was illegally operating as a night club, with a DJ playing music and a dance floor. The Liquor Authority issued numerous citations for violations and the establishment was closed for the night.
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
