Third Squad detectives report the arrest of a Hauppauge woman for an incident that occurred on Monday, January 19, 2015 at 2:40 pm in East Garden City.

East Garden City, NY- January 19, 2015 - Third Squad detectives report the arrest of a Hauppauge woman for an incident that occurred on Monday, January 19, 2015 at 2:40 pm in East Garden City.
 
According to detectives, Mary Elliott, 50, of Grissom Way, while a visitor at the Long Islands Children’s Museum, 11 Davis Avenue, entered the self-serve coat check room, went through others coats, pocketbooks and bags, removing wallets containing cash and credit cards. A subsequent investigation by detectives led them to Elliott, who, on Tuesday, January 20, 2015, placed her under arrest at her home.
 
Elliott is charged with 2 counts of Grand Larceny 4th Degree and will be arraigned in First District Court, Hempstead on 01/21/2015.
 
Detectives request anyone who was a visitor at the Museum on Monday the 19th and believe they may have been a victim of Elliott to call Third Squad detectives at (516) 573-6354.
