Seventh Squad Detectives report the arrest of an undomiciled man for an Assault that occurred on Monday, January 20, 2025 at 10:44 pm in Wantagh.
According to police. officers responded to a welfare check at 630 Old Country Road, E. Garden City. Officers made contact with a male in a parking garage and offered him medical attention. He refused but requested to be taken to a warming center. Officers were transporting the male to a Wantagh warming center and as they approached the location, he became combative.
The subject grabbed an officer’s shoulder and right index finger before bending it, causing a sprain. Both officers subdued the male while he violently resisted and swung his arms, attempting to strike them. Kysaan Goff, 29, was arrested and transported to an area hospital for evaluation and treatment.
Both officers suffered lacerations and injuries to their hands. One officer also suffered a shoulder injury during the incident.
Defendant Goff is charged with two (2) counts of Assault 2nd Degree. He will be arraigned when medically practical.
