Three in Custody After Allegedly Caught Driving Stolen Car in West Hempstead, Cops Say

Fifth Squad Detectives report the arrest of three (3) males for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property that occurred on Monday, January 20, 2025 at 3:20 pm in West Hempstead.
 
According to detectives, a black 2017 Honda was observed by officers traveling northbound on Woodfield Road.  The vehicle made an unsafe lane change and officers activated their emergency lights to conduct a Vehicle and Traffic Law stop.
 
During the investigation it was determined the vehicle was reported stolen. The operator, Brailyn Jaquez Perez, 23, of 200 W. Merrick Road was arrested without incident.  Passengers, Luis Joel Batlle Espinosa, 19, of 1518 Monroe Avenue, Bronx, and Adamarie Burgos, 20, of 2020 Cicero Avenue, Bronx, were also arrested.
 
All three (3) defendants are charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd Degree and Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle 3rd Degree.  Defendant Jaquez Perez is additionally charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 3rd Degree and multiple traffic summonses.  They will be arraigned on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at First District Court, Hempstead.
